Is this a good start to a story I'm writing?

good. characters are believable. dont like the music references, but thats just me and your more likely targeting a younger audience. you do a good job of using color and sounds to paint a scene in the readers mind.

Well i went up close to a gas fire to see whether it was working properly and it suddenly came on. My face was really close and i heard this crackling noice like something was burning. I discovered it was my eye lashes because the tips are all white and split like split end son hair. I need some advice?
