What parts of Brookyln has a decent rent price... but also including..?

decent neighborhood. (and im from pasadena, in LA, CA mind you) i do have a company car so parking would have to be convenient, and mostly safe. or does everywhere in new york smell and have a good percentage of getting robbed? please help with some insight fellow New Yorkers..!
