A Biologist once told me this.....?

That if people keep releasing exotic pets such as King Cobras and Pythons in North America, they would eventually learn a way to adapt to the cold environment? Is this true? I know that Big Cats such as Leopards, Jaguars, Tigers, ect can survive the cold. I have seen that with my own eyes at feline rescue centers. They just simply grow thicker coats. Kinda neat really. But What about reptiles? I live in an area that is very close to a lake that is heated by a power plant. One year in the middle of winter, a fisherman was scared out of his mind when a 15 ft. anaconda crawled into his boat. It was about 34 degrees outside. But of course the lake was more like 75 degrees. In Northern Indiana, fisherman reported seeing an Alligator in a river. The gator was captured by the Indiana DNR. It was during the summer. So I have yet to see any evidence of this happening.
