Customizing a fender strat?

this is my first time doing this and i was going to go all black (body, pickguard, pickups, tone and volume knobs, pickup selector switch, and maybe the machine heads (tuners) and bridge) I'm going to be playing mostly rock on it so should i just go 3 single coils or go with an HSS set (or maybe HSH) up i still want to be able to get a strat sound out if it though (mainly when playing with no gain) i have (a) humbucker(s) picked out if its going to be HSS (or HSH) but what would be (a) good single coil(s)
